A senior Iranian Army commander has warned the U.S. Navy not to move an aircraft carrier which left the Persian Gulf during Iran's recent military drills back into the body of water which forms much of Iran's southern border.

According to the Reuters news agency, army chief Ataollah Salehi suggested to the IRNA network on Tuesday that Iran would take unspecified action if the carrier returned to Gulf waters.

(CBS News)  -  Though Standard & Poor's downgraded the credit rating of the United States for the first time Friday, from the top AAA rating to AA-plus, two financial journalists agree the effect on financial markets will likely be short-lived....

Even "Darth Vader" can't afford to keep all of his "Stormtroopers" on the payroll these days.  The way he chose to lower his payroll and increase his profits was without any consideration to those that gave him his profits in the first place.  The first ones that got hired to give him all their time, blood, sweat, and tears; were the first ones that were gone.  They put up with all the uncertainties, the low wages they were given in the beginning, just to get the production solvent.  They believed in the project and made it what it became.

As time went on and profits increased, more were added to the payroll.  The "experienced" noticed that they were hiring "inexperienced" youngsters.  Hmmmm, what's up with that?  It was becoming apparent they were taking over, even ignoring the older worker's ideas, and even the work ethics went out the window.  It now appeared that work ethics, quality, honor, experience, no longer mattered; only PROFIT.  It became difficult for the ones that believed, and worked hard from the beginning to accept that this was how it was going to be.

Well, I sucked it up, bit my tongue; and continued to do my job daily.  Then the economy began to sink.  The bosses now were the young ones, and us "oldies but goodies" were told, "Don't need you anymore".  Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

President Obama, I know that our Space Program has had cuts, but I would be willing to build a Battle Station for Space alot cheaper, just for a place to build it, and for food.  May I have the courtesy of a reply?  You have my address already...........

What if U.S. debt isn't $14.3 trillion, but bigger by a factor of 14? Time, maybe, to put the cork back in the champagne bottle.

That would make it $211 trillion!!

The President has spoken often of his intention of cutting waste and abuse. What do you call adding 200,000 federal workers, as Obama has, at a time when 8 million Americans outside Washington have lost their jobs? And then paying them twice, on average, what ordinary Americans make?

What happened to the back bone of all the powerful politicians we sent to Washington to do what the people are paying them to do?  The whole world has been watching and listening to all the childish behavior being exhibited like a bunch of spoiled and overpaid actors and actresses.  You all should be ashamed of yourselves.  That means just that, everyone irregardless of whether you are a Republican, Democrat, Tea Party, Independent, etc.

It may be time for an extensive background check of each and everyone of you.  If you think that would be your worst nightmare, I have  with this article a look at the bare bones of the Washingtonians' in all their frightfulness.  All bones, and no meat.  Who got all the meat?  Come to think of it, all I see is hair implants blowing in the wind, must keep up appearances.  I have looked, and looked, but I can't find the guts, where did they go?  Like they say, no guts, no glory.  I guess that the two baked potatoes went wherever the meat went.

I have an answer as where we can save alot of money.  How about instead of collecting all those perks, reducing your salaries by 50%, paying for your own healthcare (instead of us the taxpayers), pay for your own travel, parties, meals, etc.  Let's see, that sure would be enough for the veterans, the disabled, elderly, etc. to receive their benefits.  What do you think?  I know, you consider yourselves worth more than the common taxpayer. 

The time to pay the Piper is upon us..........

If there is no clear path out of this morass by tomorrow, sources say that administration officials will likely brief the public on how the Treasury Department will try to handle the bills Congress mandates that the government pay given a situation where Congress has not given them a way to do so.

The key players in the debt ceiling debate have changed several times in recent months, but the initial terms of the discussion were set by members of the Republican leadership, influenced largely by the new but strong voices of freshman legislators from the Tea Party

But will his pitch, which includes a call to raise taxes on wealthier Americans and potentially change Medicare and Social Security benefits, succeed where his previous messaging has failed?

The showdown with the flames of the Monument Fire flames is over, but on the horizon is a fight with the insurance companies that had policies in the fire's path of homes..............

“Sometimes that’s the last straw for those barely able to pay for their basic needs,” says the study. “Many elderly people have difficulty finding employment again, and don't have the capacity to earn additional money when the cost of necessities increases."

While age discrimination is against the law, companies seeking to cut costs may be less inclined to hire more “experienced” workers who would command a higher salary than someone fresh out of college. And as long as the employer doesn’t give any inkling that age (rather than salary) is the deciding factor, Randazzo says an aging worker would have a tough time proving illegal discrimination has occurred.......

It doesn't matter how you wear that tuxedo, either gender wears the pants.  Just different sizes.  None of you have gotten it right yet.  Just collecting a paycheck for bickering like the "poker dogs"  over the chips, just different amounts.  I guess it is time to send them in to show you how to play the budget battle with all the chips on the table.

I guess the poker dogs" couldn't even get you to play either, so it looks like you are all lined up to take that big plunge over the edge into uncharted waters.  Man, is that cold, cold, water.  Maybe that will cool all of you off, and then be able to think more clearly about your responsibilities to the people of the United States.  Maybe, just maybe; you'll come to a sensible and intelligent decision before the ink runs out on the Social Security Security recipient's source of income.

The folks that can least afford to lose their income and benefits, are always the ones that are targeted to do without.  The disabled, unemployed, low income retired, the children, veterans, medicaid recipients, etc.

  Now, alot of Social Security recipients have their Medicare Advantage premiums withheld automatically from their checks, along with the Medicare premium is also automatically taken from our Social Security checks.  If the deadline isn't met, and these checks are held up, what happens with the health insurance?

Social Security didn't cause this trillions of dollars mess.  Those that work for a living pay into the Social Security and Medicare system.  If you are fortunate to still be alive at an age that you can collect it, you have more than earned it.  The Social Security Trust Fund has been robbed by those in power to pay for other sacred cows of government, and the money has never been put back into the Trust. Enough is enough........ 

Something smells fishy.  Selling tanks to Egypt at this moment in time is not unlike pouring gasoline on a forest fire.............

It has been reported that there are alot of applicants for jobs, but not the right type of experience/education for today's high technology type of jobs....

Two years after economists say the Great Recession ended, the recovery has been the weakest and most lopsided of any since the 1930s...........

Michelle Obama sees a personal stake in the upcoming 2012 election.  She has just begun her wide range of activites and has alot more to do.

Wait a minute, whose the president?

There was a conference of mayors regarding the state of the economy in their states. It is grim at best for 48 metropolitan cities across the nation. Their conclusion is that the thousands of jobs lost in their states, won't be replaced until the year 2020. Instead of spending billions on a never-ending conflict overseas, let's end it and spend those billions on our own people who need jobs.

Phoenix - We are a "Right to Work" state with low wages, high unemployment, but the unemployed older workers are not being hired.

As Pres. Obama meets to discuss growth today, these LPs, DVDs, etc. have played for the last time.  Too many "repeats" and no stores to keep open.  Just keep adding more people as unemployed.    

"I don't believe any new stimulus is going to pass in Congress. I don't think it has any credibility," Shelby said on "This Week." "What we need to do is create some certainty, some conditions for people to invest, to grow, to have some confidence. There's not a lot of confidence in the economy right now all over America."
